I heart Wedding Planning

I was never one of those girls who grew up dreaming of her wedding - I didnt sit ther and think about each detail - in fact I never even tried to picture  what my dress would look like.  and I didnt even into my 20s when I had some long term relationships - I think I figured I would jinx my opportunity to find the 'one'.  So when I embarked on the wedding planning process i - I thought it would be a relatively easy task - becuase I had no preconceptions, no expectations and no dreams to meet...  But that is where I was wrong!  The deeper into the planning I am getting 1) the more I am loving it and 2) the more I am realizing that every detail counts - not becuase it does but becuase I want it to!  And that makes everything much more complicated - though much more fun!  Take invitations for example -I always though I would just go with some online pre-templated designed that was super cheap becuase I didnt care for calligraphy and letter press and all the fluff that stationers like to sell.  But at the end of the day as the design of the wedding takes shape the invites became SO important and as it ws the first guests would see of the theme/colors/feel of the night its weight just increased!  I am SO VERY blessed to have one of the best friends ever - and a bridesmaid - Sara - who is an EXPERT at this stuff - she listened to what I wanted and went away and spent time -lots of time  - in design my dream invites!!!  They are amazing - and what better than to have the invitations to the best day of my life designed by my best friend - so perfect!  anyway - I have come to realize I <3 planning this wedding and all the details and design associated with it!  I actually caught myself the other day a little saddened when it will be all over...I suppose that is why couples have kids!!! ;)

The Wedding Stuff....

So I have covered working out and wine, so I figure I should touch on the wedding stuff...well touch on might be an understatement - descend upon might be a better description!  For any of you who have been married, you will understand!  For me this is all very new..I haven't been to many weddings in my life - 5 in total - so I don't have much experience to go off - but I love the planning and creating and designing a day where I get to me married to the man I love!!!

So thankfully we are 6.5 months out and I have lots done!  venue, dress, videographer, hair, makeup, officiant, florist..and photographer...

and its the last one I want to focus on here.  To be honest i had NO IDEA how to pick a photographer..  I knew what I wanted but I had no idea how to pick one.  I knew I wanted someone to capture our emotions and the joy of the day in a very natural way. We had a phenomenal photographer for our engagement - alissa lenz - our wonderful front desk manager at Golds Gym Issaquah - she is pure talent but not the experience yet to do a full wedding so we tried to find someone like her...

After looking at ads of all the expensive places I weirdly got this FB ad on my page for Luminous Studios...I was curious yt the name so took a look....low and behold I loved what i saw and more so I loved what was on Jen hecht - the photographer's -  blogs' - the photos were interesting, emotive and capture the specialness of the day.  I have never met Jen (yet) in person but one phone call was enough to know she was 'the one' for our wedding!  Jen - we are so looking forward to using you to capture our special day!

Tuesday Night - BC46 & BP76!

Whoa...!!! What a night!  The crew was on fire!!! I had covered a BP class at 1pm for an instructor with a sick boy so I was worried I'd be dying by T2 but as always the BC crew brought their energy and I felt on-fire!!!  BC46 is a tough release and the back half is brutally awesome!  I just glad I got *most* of the chorey right!  And then we had BP76 - with, can I just say 31 people!!!  For a Tuesday night at 7pm that is unheard of - the energy was grit and determination - its another tough release but the crew was up for it and gritted their teeth through mid-range pulses and more leg work!

So after smashing it..I decided to cook fajitas for dinner - Frank, my Fiance, and I love them as they are quick and easy and healthy and filling!  And I dropped by Fred Meyer and picked up some new wine to try..I really love that about Fred Meyer, they actually have some interesting wine,...I got a chardonnay tonight called Fog Lane..it very easy to drink...2 thumbs up!

So a night of fitness, fajitas and fabulous wines - not a bad Tueaday!!!

Inaugural Post!

Ok, so this idea totally came to me on a whim tonight as I was sitting on the couch, exhausted but exhilerated after an awesome double class at Golds Gym Redmond tonight!  I was tired but energized - the way I love to be - but I was also sitting here enjoying some nice Chardonnay and surfing the vast sea that is the how-to-make-your-wedding-awesome websites that are out there..and then it occured to me...this is more than I could (and probably should) share on Facebook but I am sure there are others out there!

So here I introduce my blog - a conversation with myself and anybody else that is listening about working out, drinking great wine and planning the best day of my life!

I will promise to update this many times a week - so if you want to, please follow me :)

Here's to lots of working out, wedding planning and wine drinking!

Cheers!
